But it isn’t just about a band. It’s about celebrity. It’s about fame. It’s about the mythologies that we as consumers of culture build. It’s about the impact we as viewers, listeners, and end users have.
MOON PHASE ATL
Moon Phase ATL brought hundreds together to experience mixed media, live rock, and to help shape a unique sound installation – all in one room for one unforgettable night.
Mixed Media+ Soundscape + Live Rock
As a multimedia artist, there is some digital aspect to almost every work I produce. That digital presence is most evident in the full staging of the Moon Phase works. The three major components of the Moon Phase installation are the mixed media works on display, the soundscapes, and the live rock performance.
As a visitor tours the works, his or her movements throughout the space trigger samples and effects from a pre-selected collection. These sound samples and effects are molded together automatically and in real-time to create a unique sonic atmosphere. This soundscape is the direct result of the viewer’s presence and movement in the space.
Later, the soundscape is quieted and Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun takes the stage for a full performance amid the works.
