Integrated with a kind of frame – referred to as a node – works from the #hashtag series venture into the exhibition space. The pieces often utilize found objects and traditional materials such as – specifically – paint and art store substrates situated in different contexts.
These contexts are intended to be uncomfortable and yet attract the viewer to experience visual work differently.
Besides exploring the exhibition space itself, this multimedia series also seeks to bridge the gap between traditional materials and more contemporary conceptual conundrums:
- How can concepts that are often digital in nature be communicated using tools that are both digital and nondigital?
- How can new materials and processes be integrated with these tools to explore such an awkward gap?
- In our connected world, how do we perceive – and perceive the connections between – moments, objects, and memory?
